StumpJumper ReturnAs you may or may not know, I love to ride bicycles. I have several bikes. The one pictured here I bought new in 1985. It is one of the first factory-built "Mountain" bikes. It is a 1985 Specialized Stumpjumper Sport. I rode it for years in Tucson. One day, while riding in Vegas, the frame broke. As you can see in the photo below, the rear dropout had separated from the frame. I could not find a bike shop in Las Vegas that did welding. There are motorcycle shops and welders, but I didn't have the time to investigate enough to decide whether or not any of them would be competent with a bicycle frame. After some interneting, I found Martha, who introduced me to Mike Bohm, and I sent my frame out to him. He did a fantastic job welding in new rear dropouts. Below are shots of my resurrected, 25-year-old Specialized Stump Jumper, strapped. Life is good.
