This is not the greatest photo, I know. But it is an excellent example of what I mean by "southrustern".
This car was top-of-the-line when it rolled off the showroom floor. Now, 30 years later, it sits dusty and forlorn by the side of the road in a California desert backwater.
I don't have the words to adequately describe what southrustern means to me, so thank god I can take pictures (and paint).
Even though I wish the trailer in the background wasn't there, it is kind of neat how the shadows of the same three power lines crossing the fender of the Eldorado, appear again on its side.
For that reason alone, I might leave it in the painting.

Inyokern (formerly, Siding 16 and Magnolia) is a census-designated place (CDP) in Kern County, California, United States.
Inyokern is located 8 miles west of Ridgecrest, at an elevation of 2,434 feet in the Indian Wells Valley. The population was 984 at the 2000 census. It was a railroad town established along the Southern Pacific railroad Lone Pine Branch (now removed). It is served by Inyokern Airport.
