signsGlass Pool
I had always heard that it wasn't smart to have glass near the pool... This sign is on the east side of Las Vegas Bvld (the Strip) just north of the famous "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign. Sitting alone in an empty field, the hotel it advertises long gone. One day, I'll go by here, and it will be gone as well. But for now it soldiers on.
The Strip Centre
I took this shot while riding on the north strip early one morning. The Strip Centre Sign looks like it's been around for a while. On these rides, I'm always on the lookout for glimpses of an older Las Vegas. That Las Vegas was small, much smaller, surrounded on all sides by desert, its neon signs blazing away in the inky huge blackness of the forbidding Mojave. Those days are gone, but the signs aren't.
Lo Gas Eat
It was really tough getting a good shot of this sign with my little Pentax. The property was completely fenced off. What you really need is a good zoom lens...
